erunks As a long time fan of Ed's music, this is the quintessential album of his discography thus far. Included are timeless classics like: "I'm a Pirate", "Controlled From Space", and, my personal favourite, "Party Bus". I highly recommend this album to everyone. Favorite track: Party Bus.

Edward Herbers I made this! It's a diverse and often silly collection of songs I wrote over the course of a decade. Favorite track: I'm a Pirate (The Pirate Song).

Hello, my name is Garmin My job’s to help you get around My voice is rather charmin’ I give directions on the ground But you might wonder how it is I know exactly where you are When we’re out there driving on the highway in your fancy car I am controlled from space (Yes I’m controlled from space.) Laser beams from satellites that float across the sky I am controlled from space (Yes way out in outer space) If you were ever wondering, well you just found out why. You’re lying on the couch And you’re watching Jersey Shore You’ve got seven hundred channels But you wish you had some more When you switch to CNN So you can watch the news You never even give a thought To all the work I do I am controlled from space (Yes I’m controlled from space.) Laser beams from satellites that float across the sky I am controlled from space (Yes out in outer space) If you were ever wondering, well you just found out why. Laser-Guided Missles, GPS And unmanned army drones The garbage you watch on TV Even your cellular phone They’re all interconnected By metal objects in the sky So elegant and beautiful It almost makes me cry As I smash down all your buildings With my deadly laser ray Your tiny tanks they shoot at me And they probably will all day The mothership is guiding me From high above the planet And as long as she is overhead I’m invincible like granite (because) I am controlled from space (Yes I’m controlled from space.) Laser beams from spaceships flying way up in the sky I am controlled from space (Yes way out in outer space) The aliens are winning and now you’re all gonna die!

You and I have been together for so very long But I know you want to break away and you’re ready to move on I figured while I had the chance I’d tell you in a song: Don’t do anything stupid when I’m gone. I know it seems appealing to just drink until you die Or get a couple piercings done right above your eyes Or maybe even run around with a hundred other guys But don’t do anything stupid when I’m gone I’m not allowed to run your life It just wouldn’t be right But a little voice keeps telling me I better keep you in my sight And so I’m gonna stay close by and try with all my might Just don’t do anything stupid when I’m gone Imagine you’re in love with me; pretend that you still care Cause darlin when you need some help; I promise I’ll be there And know that I’ll be watching you, and I’ll keep you in my prayers So don’t do anything stupid when I’m gone Don’t do anything stupid when I’m gone Don’t do anything stupid when I’m gone

Hit the Road 03:28
You’ve got so many reasons To get out of this town You’ve finally had enough Ain’t gonna stick around It’s time to burn the bridges It’s time to drop the load So get into your car, ‘cause It’s time to hit the road You drive a hundred miles And then a hundred more You have no destination Push the pedal to the floor Roar off into the night And toward a better day The future’s looking brighter As your past fades away Life is like driving an automobile The repairs are expensive The accidents, real Having money can buy you an eye-catching beaut If you don’t like where you’re going You can just change your route Far off on the horizon The sun begins to rise You’re running out of gas and You want to close your eyes Pull over at a motel You check into a room You won’t sleep very long; The road is calling you.

I’m a pirate and I like peg legs I have an eyepatch, hook hand too I’m a pirate, I live on a boat Sailing the seas is what I do I’m a pirate and I like flowers Tulips, roses, clematis and mums I’m a pirate who loves to plant Daisies, petunias, and geraniums I’m a pirate. I carry a cutlass Swab the deck, and hoist the sails If ye shirk yer pirate duties You’ll get a beating from a cat’o’nine tails I’m a pirate and I can’t swim, Fire a cannon, or shoot a gun But I can trim weeds and use a rake I stay in my garden cause it’s lots more fun Yer not a pirate or a buccaneer I doubt you’ve ever been on the seas You’ve never buried treasure or touched booty If you were a pirate you’d be more like me I guess I’m not a pirate but I really tried I’m not cut out for a pirate career For now I’ll just stay home and plant my plants But I’m going to try out again next year

Hyperspeed 02:44
You’re ready for combat Don’t worry about it Move our star fleet within range and launch all starfighter squadrons At once sir

Party Bus 03:38
It’s Friday night and you’re with your friends And you’ve had too much Bacardi But that’s alright, cause there’s a number to call If you want to have a mobile party It pulls up at your house at a quarter to nine So you grab your drinks and you’re feeling fine It opens the doors and you jump on in Get onto the bus and let the party begin! Party Bus! You’re out on the road and you’re having a blast Dancing and drinking and moving real fast Out of the blue here comes a cop His lights are flashing and he hollers “STOP!” Party bust! The bus pulls over and the cop gets on He looks at the driver and he says “Hey son, Where are you going? Can I tag along?” Grabs himself a drink and the party rolls on. Party cop! You party on the bus til the break of dawn And you gotta admit: the party was fun You get off the bus and say bye to your friends You tell the bus driver “See you next weekend!” Party bus Oh yeah! Ride that party bus all night! Ride it downtown to the bar! Party bus

One Way Trip 03:01
While you were in Prague (Or is it Prague?) I crashed my bike and I broke my leg It could have been worse Now I’ve got a lot of time for reading When you were in Rome you met the Pope And I just sat at home and moped. Things just aren’t the same back here without you. Usually I don’t mind sitting around and wasting time But now I’m finding life’s too short to waste So come back home Take me with you and we’ll make a little journey of our own. A one way trip to anywhere with you I’m incredibly bored, nothing’s going on I washed my car and I mowed the lawn I swear I’ll lose my mind if you keep me waiting Just a couple more weeks I have to wait I marked the time, circled the date I wish I could sleep and wake up with you here beside me Usually I don’t mind sitting around and wasting time But now I’m finding life’s too short to waste So come back home Take me with you and we’ll make a little journey of our own. A one way trip to anywhere with you If I had the money I would fly to where to you are But I’ve only got ten dollars and that won’t get me very far Usually I don’t mind sitting around and wasting time But now I’m finding life’s too short to waste So come back home Take me with you and we’ll make a little journey of our own. A one way trip to anywhere with you A one way trip to anywhere with you

Moonshine 01:03
He set up a still in his basement He brought down the mash from upstairs The alcohol distilled until dawn He drank it down without care He spent all money on yeast now To make some more sour mash He’d rent out his children as servants Just to make a little cash Well the alcohol killed his liver Moonshine of 180 proof Everybody thought he was respectable But now the whole world knows the truth
9.
Wait For You 03:39
You are so beautiful You set my heart on fire Don’t know what you do to me When you flash your pretty smile I don’t know where your head is But frankly, I don’t care There’s a thousand reasons why you and I should be together I will wait for you Someday you’ll realize that I am the one for you Someday our paths will cross out on the avenue You’ll tell me that you have been out looking for so long Thank God for intuition—the heart is never wrong I will wait for you Of all the people out there I had to fall for you I simply can’t help feeling that this love must be true I will wait for you
10.
Sometimes people make promises That they don’t intend to keep They build up your hopes only to crash them down And leave you alone to weep Amanda, I’m one of those people And I’m being so sincere You’ve asked for a song more than 90 times But I won’t write you a song this year I’d like to say that I’m sorry But truth be told I’m not I haven’t had time or good ideas And this is all that I’ve got Life is full of disappointment Some drown their sorrows in beer Cope with this news however you like But I won’t write you a song this year Now this song is ending And I need to make one thing clear I didn’t write this song for you And I won’t write you a song this year No I won’t write you a song this year
11.
Think back to when we met Would you have ever bet That you and I would be where we are now? It seems just yesterday I was too scared to say, “I like you” Guess I just didn’t know how But we have come so far together And we still so far to go There will be bumps ahead oh trust me But we can make it through together, love, I know If you stay close to me Then I’ll stay close to you And we can travel round the world someday We’ll cross stuff off our list And after that we’ll kiss And you’ll look up at me and then you’ll say: “Be with me forever.” And then I’ll promise that I will Because each day my love grows stronger When I think of you my heart beats faster still So let’s celebrate each moment Sharing the good and the bad too We cannot know what life will bring us But I just cannot wait to share it all with you
12.
Apology 01:37
When I was a boy my mom would sing to me But for reasons I cannot explain, I’d cover my ears and scream I was just three years old But the truth be told What I did was awfully mean So look at me now I’m writing and singing these songs But I’ll know that I’ll never forget And I’ll probably always regret How I done her wrong Please accept my apology Cause I’m so very sorry you see And I’m sincerely hoping that we Can finally move on
